Aluminum: Your Household Hero or Hidden Hazard?

Oct 28, 2024

Aluminum is literally in everything if you are not careful. From everyday household products like cookware, foil, baking soda, cake-mixes, non-dairy creamers, aspirin, flour, deodorant and even water.

Many common food additives such as contain aluminum. Aluminum can be toxic to our body and can cause many health issues.

Alzheimer’s and dementia are only 2.

HEAT CAUSES ALUMINUM TO LEACH FOIL TO FOOD.

Why you MUST Eliminate  Aluminum From Your Life:

Aluminum causes damage to the Central Nervous System:

In children, it has been linked to Autism.  Babies can be exposed to high levels of Aluminum (when compared to their body size) from drinking tap water.  Aluminum toxicity has been linked to bone and kidney diseases in young children.

In adults, signs of pre-mature aging, especially cognitively are very common, and they mostly resemble Alzheimer’s.

Brain Damage:

Exposure to high doses of aluminum causes high levels of oxidative stress in brain tissue.  Brain is one of the main places our body stores Aluminum, and therefore, it is the most affected organ.  Some of the effects can include Multiple Sclerosis, Chronic fatigue, Epilepsy, ADHD and other cognitive disorders.

Aluminum can affect the Body’s absorption of Essential Minerals:

We do not need Aluminum, however, magnesium, calcium and iron are essential for our health and our body’s normal functions.

Unfortunately, Aluminum can interfere with the absorption of these essential substances.  Research suggests that “Trace aluminum levels cross the blood-brain barrier and progressively accumulate in large pyramidal neurons of the hippocampus, cortex, and other brain regions vulnerable in Alzheimer’s disease. More aluminum enters the brain than leaves, resulting in a net increase in intra-neuronal aluminum with advancing age. Aluminum is responsible for two main types of toxic damage in cells. As a pro-oxidant, aluminum causes oxidative damage both on its own and in synergy with iron.  Aluminum also competes with, and substitutes for, essential metals-primarily Mg2+, iron and Ca2+ ions-in or on proteins and their co-factors.”

Aluminum Compromises the integrity of Bones and Tissues:

It may contribute to osteoporosis and bone density loss.

Aluminum Can Cause Premature Aging:

This is primarily due to the oxidative stress on cellular DNA.

So what should you do?

  •  Reduce Aluminum Intake:

While avoiding it completely will be difficult, it is possible to minimize your exposure and/ or intake.

  • Start by purchasing Aluminum-free products whenever possible. These include:  cookware, personal hygiene and processed foods.
  • Use oven-safe glass dishes to cook in the oven.
  • Use BPS-free dish liners instead of foil.

What foods can help with reducing aluminum you have already been exposed to?

Spirulina:

This will boost your red blood cells and their capacity to transport oxygen. More oxygen means a more efficient body to detox! Additionally, Spirulina is loaded with proteins, Amino acids, Vitamins, Minerals and Chlorophyll for helping balance pH levels in the body.
