Laleh Talebian, Ph.D., is a cancer research scientist with more than two decades of experience, a nutrition specialist, podcaster, author, and professional bodybuilder. You may have seen her on TV or seen her featured in Health Watch magazine. Dr. Laleh earned her Ph.D. in Molecular Biology of Cancer from Dartmouth College, and her research has been published in ten major peer-reviewed scientific journals.

"8 months ago, I woke up and decided I needed to make a change in my life. I had had enough of waking up every morning with swollen feet and hands and having my stomach bloat to the point where it stuck out, after I ate my lunch each afternoon. I was very uncomfortable and this was not the way I wanted to feel every day.

Convenience had been steering my food decisions for the past year. After a busy day of work, I just wanted to grab something easy so I could accomplish my list of to-do’s at home before enjoying a little time in front of the tv. Convenience, of course, does not always mean good for you. Pizza, Chinese Buffet, BBQ Chicken tenders and pasta from local restaurants and delis were so easy to grab as I drove by. Gradually these meals were adding pounds to my frame and wreaking havoc with my digestion.

Lucky for me, I had been introduced to Dr Laleh in 2016. I had started a plan with her then, but had not successfully completed it. Now it was time to follow through. I had made up my mind that I needed to take control of my eating and my health.

Taking that step was one of the best decisions I have ever made for myself. Within the first month, the morning swelling had decreased significantly and the afternoon bloat was only happening occasionally. By month two, the morning swelling was gone and the afternoon bloat no longer occurred. The pounds were slowly shedding and my body was feeling so much better all the way around. On completion of my 16 weeks program, I had successfully lost 22 pounds and completely overhauled the way I consumed food on a daily basis. Not only did Laleh’s program help me loose weight, but it changed my mindset and relationship with food. 

In the past, I had felt that I was  “depriving” myself by avoiding certain foods and in some ways punishing myself. After completing my plan, I now see that what I thought I was depriving myself of, was actually hurting my health, physically and mentally. Now when I think about those so called “comfort foods” that I would crave when I needed an emotional boost, I can say no, my body does not need that.

Laleh’s program not only changed me physically, but also mentally. It is very empowering to have the control over my health, which I knew I had the whole time, but was choosing not to. Now I can be around all those sweets and foods that I couldn’t get enough of and say, No Thank You, that’s not what I want to put in my body. 

6 months have past since I made the decision to start Laleh’s program and I am still going strong. I have lost 40 pounds and use all the techniques and recipes weekly to stay on track. Taking control of my health was a huge first step in taking control of my life and future. Here’s to happier and healthier years ahead!
