12 Weeks and 12 Steps to a Healthy Balance

Jun 24, 2024

What is the magic about 12 weeks?

Achieving a natural nutrient balance in your diet typically involves consuming a variety of foods that provide essential nutrients in the right proportions. It's important to note that the specific timeline for reaching a natural nutrient balance can vary significantly from person to person, depending on individual dietary habits, health goals, and starting points. However, you can make substantial progress toward a balanced diet in three months by following these general guidelines:

Assess Your Current Diet:

Start by evaluating your current eating habits to identify any deficiencies or excesses in your nutrient intake. You can use a food diary or a nutrition tracking app to help with this.

Set Clear Nutritional Goals:

Determine your nutritional goals based on your individual needs, such as age, gender, activity level, and any specific health conditions or dietary restrictions you may have. I can help you with this process.

Plan Balanced Meals:

Create a meal plan that includes a variety of food groups, such as fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and healthy fats. Try to incorporate foods from all the major food groups into your daily meals.

Portion Control:

Pay attention to portion sizes to ensure you're not overeating or under eating. Use tools like measuring cups and a food scale if necessary.

Reduce Processed Foods:

Minimize the consumption of highly processed foods that are often high in added sugars, unhealthy fats, and sodium. Opt for whole, unprocessed foods whenever possible.

Include a Rainbow of Fruits and Vegetables:

Aim to consume a variety of colorful fruits and vegetables to ensure a broad spectrum of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.

Choose Healthy Fats:

Incorporate sources of healthy fats like avocados, nuts, seeds, olive oil, avocado oil, sesame oil, walnuts oil to name a few, while reducing saturated and trans fats.

Avoid oils such as corn oil, canola oil, mixed vegetable oils, peanut oil, palm kernel oil, and coconut oil.

Monitor Protein Sources:

Make sure you're getting enough protein from good trusted of animal based sources, such as 100% Grass fed, free range lean meats, poultry, fish, and eggs.

Stay Hydrated:

Drink an adequate amount of water (roughly about 100-120 oz) throughout the day to maintain proper hydration.

Seek Professional Guidance:

Remember that achieving a natural nutrient balance is an ongoing process, and it's important to be patient and trust the process.

Based on many years of research and experience, I have determined that three months OR 12 weeks is a good starting point to start developing healthy habits, but making lasting lifestyle changes may take longer and requires consistency.
